The Answered Wishes

            Two of my wishes has been realized  today. First is the approval of my promotion, second  is my change of name in the payroll.Thanks God that positive energy is coming my way. Things do happen according to God's plan, we just have to wait. My heart feels joy today.
I remember Psalm 33:(1-7)

All you that are righteous, shout for joy for what the Lord has done;

praise him, all you that obey him.

Give thanks to the Lord with harps, singed to Him with stringed instruments.

Sing a new song to him, play the harp with skill, and shout for joy!

The words of the Lord are true, and all his works are dependable.

The Lord love what is righteous and just;

his constant love fills the earth.

National Achievement Test 2012

              Next week would be another technique to assess the needs of my pupils in preparation for National Achievement Test. They would be seated alphabetically.Each line comprising six pupils will work as a group. One way to help them is to help each other. Cooperative learning would make them grow together. One leader for each group to assist and manage those who are low performers. More chances for everyone to participate and share whatever they can.

             The questions included in the National Achievement Test are based on the Budget of Work, there is no actual reasons for the pupils to wander. The problem is not all learners are absorbers, some are just merely audience inside the classroom, but despite the situations we have to understand them because they have different life story and they might be struggling for something. We have to reach down their level. We understand the individual differences they had. Since we share one common goal, as teachers we cling to the idea that they will improve as the days move on.

              Learning is a struggle. Each day should be a battle.
             Yesterday, we had our school conference regarding our Year End District Evaluation. There are many things to accomplish, but then its a part of our work, so there's not much to complain about. Life is a matter of time. When you do your task regularly, then there's no way to be left behind, or to get burdened by so much work. We have to manage our time, not the time managing ourselves, we'll end up losing our health if that would be the case. Anyway, I feel grateful. I have my life today, just like yesterday!!

National Achievement Test 2012

         The good news today tells that teachers from other district will be the examiners for the conduct of 2012 National Achievement Test. I am happy to hear that.

         I decided to think of a new strategy today to change the monotony of usual sitting arrangement. I grouped my class into two groups, the first group are those who top the exams most of the time and the other group belongs to those who need remediation and more hardworks. As our review continues, group 2 tried their best to be at pace with the other group. As a challenge for them, the pupil who got the highest point from group II, integrates with the group I, on the other hand, the pupil who got lowest score from group I, integrates with Group II. Our day has become a fun-filled challenge review.

                Before the day end, the groups have reached an equal points, three times for group one to reach higher performance level, same with  second group. For the last challenge of questions, I chose Filipino subject and luckily group I got it with 64% PL. As I promised I bought some candies to the group who achieved  higherperformance level.

                  I went home with a smile . I knew in my heart that I have done my task for the day. Whatever is the result for this test, we knew we worked and have fun together.

National Achievement Test 2012 II

          The National Achievement Test for Grade VI is fast approaching. We make regular reviews in preparation for the yearly conduct of test.Despite the rigorous review we have conducted I still got worried about the results I keep on getting. I monitored everyday the percentage level for each subject to ensure that my pupils are improving.

         The result is quiet alarming on my part. But then I should not lose hope. I keep on working everyday

to help them improve more.I knew I have done to make things effective for them. We just have to be prayerful, hopeful and joyful each day. I accept the challenges coming ahead. Nothing is useless.

       I got this quotation from here. "Don't be afraid to fail. Don't waste energy trying to cover up failure. Learn from your failures and go on to the next challenge. It's Ok to fail. If you're not failing. You're not growing."

       I do recommend that NAT should be conducted in all grade level next year, so that as they reach Grade Six, they are exposed to this kind of test and at the same time exposed and trained to a rigid review by their adviser. This is one way of seeing and observing how they improved well. There should be no year gap for the conduct of test.

Unexpected Moment

       I'm home at 8:30 A.m. Trying to copy the pictures during the Congressional Step competition last December 03, 2011. An unexpected hour to go home but, there's a need to reproduce this one.Although, am lucky because my pupils are having recollections, so there's  not much to worry.
      I tried to read this verse from the Bible to make up for the time.
Ecclesiastes 3(1-5)
     Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses. He sets the time for birth and the time for death, the time  for planting and the time for pulling up, the time for killing and the time for healing, the time for tearing down and the time for building. he sets the time for sorrow and the time for joy, the time for mourning and the time for dancing, the time for making love and the time for not making love, the time for kissing and the time for not kissing.

        What do we really gain from all our work?
         First we have to ask ourselves, why do we work, spent most of our time outside with others. Depriving our children to enjoy moments with us.In a positive way, working is a must. We need to struggle for food, clothing and everything, so we have to use our energy to accumulate all this things. Life is a matter of working and appreciation.

Evening Prayer for Help

Psalm 4: 1-8

         Answer me when I pray, O God, my defender!
         When I was in trouble, you helped me.
          Be kind to me now and hear my prayer.

         How long will you people insult me?
         How long will you love what is worthless
         and go after what is false?

         Remember that the Lord has chosen the righteous
         for his own,
         and He hears me when I call to him.

         Tremble with fear and stop sinning;
         think deeply about this,
         when you lie in silence on your beds.
         Offer the right sacrifices to the Lord,
         and put your trust in him.

         There are many who pray:
          " Give us more blessings, O Lord.
         Look on us with kindness!"
         But the joy that you have given me
         is more than they will ever have
         with all their grain and wine.

        When I lie down, I go to sleep in peace;
         you alone, O lord, keep me perfectly safe.

Jesus Heals Two Men with Demons

Matthew 8: 28- 34

          When Jesus came to the territory of Gadara on the other side of the lake, he was met by two men 

who came out of the burial caves there. These men had demons in them and were so fierce that no one dared travel on that road. At once they screamed," What do you want with us, you Son of God? Have you come to punish us before the right time?"

         Not far away there was a large herd of pigs feeding. SO the demons beg Jesus, " If you are going to drive us out, send us into that herd of pigs."

         " Go", Jesus told them; so they left and went off into the pigs. The whole herd rushed down the side of the cliff into the lake and was drowned.

         The men who had been taking care of the pigs ran away and went into the town, where they told the whole story and what had happened to the men with the demons. So everyone from the town went out to meet Jesus; and when they saw him, they begged him to leave their territory.

The Parable of the Lost Sheep

Matthew 18: 112-14
         
            What do you think  a man does who has one hundred sheep and one of them gets lost? he will leave the other ninety- nine grazing on the hillside and go and look for the lost sheep. When he finds it, I tell you, he feels far happier over this one sheep than over the ninety- nine that did not get lost. In just the same way your Father in heaven does not want any of these little ones to be lost.

A Little Kindness

      A hungry cat met a tiny mouse who incidentally was also looking for food.
      " I haven't eaten anything yet. I feel too weak to move, " said the poor cat.
      "Why? Does it mean anybody cares for you?" the mouse asked surprisingly.
      " I don't know. It's too hard for me to understand what's going oftentimes.
      My masters seem to have forgotten me. Even my favorite mat is too dirty to sleep on.
      Everybody seems too busy to spend just a little time for me," replied the cat sadly.
      " Don't be sad my dear. I may look to small to help but I know I can do it.
      I'll share with you whatever I will get and we'll eat together. I'll be back soon,' said the
      mouse gladly.

It doesn't matter whether you are the wealthiest or the poorest creature on Earth as long as you 
have the heart to give to others. Anyone can reach out to others in their own little way. Sharing 
ourselves with others is such a wonderful deeds. Going with a person three or more miles is better than just showing him the direction.

National Achievement Test 2012- I

           The conduct of National Achievement Test for Grade 3 is on March 2, 2012 and for Grade 6 on March 8, 2012.I am just confused what I read here about Grades 3 and 4 who shall be taking the test on the date stated above.

         For Grades 3,English, Math , Science and Filipino will be tested, for Grade VI, English, Math, Science, Filipino and Hekasi. The questions are highly constructed. It will really test the pupil's knowledge regarding the topics for each subject. In my 6th Grader class, I have only 39 pupils, with 18 male and 21 female, I could conclude that they belong to an average section.Only 25% of the Class can comprehend well, but not very well. The rest needs more remediation everyday. The sad fact is that I cannot give them the proper treatment after diagnosing their weaknesses because of time constraint. I am handling all 8 subjects in one day and I could say that I cannot have it all!!. I do propose that Grade six should also be given priority . The number of teachers should be consider.Despite it all I continue praying and hoping that we can make it. Miracles do happen everyday. We just have to study harder for the next few weeks. I hope there will be no more interruptions.

         I do recommend that the National Achievement Test shall be given to all Grade Level, not only for Grade 3 and 6 pupils, for how will they able to test the effectivity of teaching - learning experiences of other grade level if they only focus on the two grades. Not all teachers are diligent and honest. Some may just be pretending to be around, but when the administrator is not around, will they retain themselves inside the classroom with their pupils? I just wish that they will. 

          A matter of observation, can lead to an opinion and could arrive at a right conclusion.God bless us and all the teachers who work for the common good, not for the common loan.
