March 19, 2012

Today marks my eleven years in the field of teaching. I have just been reclass to Teacher II last February , 2012. I should have been a Master Teacher I, if I have used my time and efforts correctly. But I still don't lose hope there's still more for tomorrow. Now that I'm awake and ready to fight for what I know and what I can do.
Despite the spirit that I have today, I still have the heart of kindness and gratitude. Everything in life is just a game, we just have to play it well.
I really want to have changes in my life. First is a change of environment , I want to start anew and fresh. I want to roam around and experience more, but for the meantime that I am here, I should make use of my time and opportunities here.I would never get tired of writing and hoping, despite the mistakes I commit in grammar.
Life has many challenges along the way, I just pray hard that my family be spare from any disease, so we can continue a healthy living in a very simple way.

Do Not Be Ashamed of What You Don't Have

Today is our CASISTEA Assembly held at the University of Nueva Caceres Gym. The Guest Speaker is Dr.Orfelina Tuy, Director IV of Region V. It was participated by all Elementary Teachers of the Division of Camarines Sur.
I remember her way back in 2011, March 19 because she signed my appointment as Teacher I, being the Assistant Superintendent of the Division of Camarines Sur during that time. Still single and looks charming today .I was encouraged to listen to her discussing about goal assessment. She emphasized that no teacher should  ever retire as teacher 1, never wait for 20 years to become teacher 2, that each teacher should have a career plan.Do not be contented of what you are now, work on your goal. She also tackles financial budgeting, that teachers have only 3, 000 as take home pay, so we end up thinking of where to find another lending institution. The statement is too good to be true!
One thing more that I like about what she said is that  we should not be ashamed of what we don't have. Instead of loaning a scooter or single motor for 3 years (P3, 000 monthly) to be your service, why don't we just ride in a tricycle, even she, rides in a tricycle. We should control ourselves over matters that don't really matter. Teachers should learn how to be thrifty. We should save even 5 pesos each day. It's better than not saving at all.
Last thing , as an individual we should not lose our faith, that there is a powerful spirit that controls us all. Never rely in our strength. Dream high. All has a place on Earth.

I was inspire today by those who have gone through hardworks and hardships in the field of education. Now , I learn to assess my self and my goal in life. I have to work starting today for me to achieve more. At the age of 37 , I should already be a Master Teacher I. No more, no less..

EVALUATION DAY

Today is our evaluation day and naturally, we have to prepare, although I have prepared weeks ago, but still there's more to do. Let the work be done. Yesterday, we got tired of all these works so, we relaxed. Forget the worries, we just watch TV before going home. I have happy moments with my pupils.

EARTHQUAKE DRILL

Our School children preparing themselves for feeding after the drill.
The Bureau of Fire Protection sponsored and spearheaded the Earthquake drill in our School on March 07,2012. It was participated by all grade level and kinder pupils, together with their parents and faculties of our school. It started with the Orientation by room, then, opening program and actual activity drill outside the school ground.

The weather took part  when we are about to start the activity outside, a five minute rain shower suspended the activity. We have waited for a few moments, we knew that life sometimes has an unexpected moments.

National Achievement Test -VI

Today is our last Saturday Review for NAT, they show improvement in their performance level. They reach 70 to 80% Percentage Level, because they read the same reviewer everyday, I don't know how will they perform if new sets of questions will be given.
Despite the hardships we have done, we continued with our feeding program as part of our aim of improving their nutrition in order to make their mind and body active and reactive. Here's some of the shots we have taken this morning.

National Achievement Test 2012-V

My pupils had learned to work with  each other as we go further with our review. Repetition of concepts lead them to familiarity. I just hope and pray that the results for our hardwork is satisfying and acceptable. We spent so much time struggling to study, to repeat everything, but still I only expect a 70 % result of this most awaited exam given yearly to public and private schools nationwide.
There are changes I have noticed with my pupils, now that we only have  few days before graduation. They response to everything , they raise questions and even explain to me some informations regarding the souring of milk, the decaying of tooth to the tearing of papers. They become aware of physical and chemical changes that occur every now and then that they include them in some of their jokes.
Furthermore, they become acquainted with the gases around us, the importance of plants around us and the effect if we lost many of them. God has really put things rightly in nature. All exist and co- exist with each other. All needs one another. I am so glad that my pupils have become aware of the food web in the ecosystem. They argue about omnivorous and carnivorous animals. They learned so much through familiarization and repetition of concepts. I would be more joyful if I can show them everything that I have read and watch aboutthe space above us. I could have heard them saying...aahh!
Their eyes reflect understanding and curiosity,  good enough to let me feel contented after all these years. I may look and feel  weary...sometimes, but it is there when you can feel your achievements. No medals can surpass it all when you knew that your pupils have changed...for the better!!
