SIMPLE, COMPOUND AND COMPLEX SENTENCES

Just to summarized the past discussions I had with my sixth grader class I gave an assignment on simple, compound and complex sentences. Out of 39 pupils, I received only 9! English is actually not our national language, but we try to cope with the demands of the curriculum. Pupils have different reasons why they do not like it. It takes so much time for them to construct and understand the second language we have. Primarily because they are not expose to speak the language at home. But then, they are with me and so I accept them with all my heart .Despite it all, there are few who really excel and just need more practice and maybe a little recognition !!
